Criminal Offenses Against Law Enforcement Officers and Other Personnel
Named for a shot Daytona Beach officer, this law toughens penalties for crimes against police, corrections officers, and similar personnel. It bans using force to resist arrest even if the arrest is unlawful, adds enhanced manslaughter charges when an officer is killed, and stiffens assault and battery penalties against officers.
