Candidate Qualification
Candidates running for office in Florida must be registered with a party or as no-party for 365 straight days before qualifying opens. They also cannot have legally changed their name via court petition during that same period. Candidates or parties can sue in circuit court to challenge violations. Violators cannot appear on the ballot.
