H 0047
Specific Medical Diagnoses in Child Protective Investigations
Changes how DCF handles child abuse cases involving medical diagnoses. DCF no longer must immediately alert police when certain medical findings arise — instead, police are notified after DCF finishes its investigation. Child Protection Teams must consult a qualified doctor or nurse, who must submit a written report within a set timeframe.
